Once again, thanks Anthony for sharing those with us. I really enjoyed that movie. Randy provides some serious expressions in those pics. Keep up the great work.
I do already have "The Wager" There was an exclusive purchase of it last year via the John Hagee website. It's a really good movie. And again, Randy is a natural in this one. So for those who may not have it already, you don't want to pass it up. You will like the movie.

Cattle Baron's Gala Ball

$175/person

County music legend Randy Travis is slated as the headline entertainer for the 21st annual Tyler Cattle Barons' Gala, event planners announced Tuesday amid enthusiastic applause from supporters.

Word of the star's anticipated performance was shared during a private gathering, held to kick off fundraising efforts for this year's gala, "21 Gun Salute - Shootin' for the Cure."

The annual event, planned for June 7 at Threlkeld Farm in Flint, benefits the American Cancer Society, the largest nonprofit, non-governmental backer of cancer research in the United States.

"He's so well known, we think audiences young and old will love him," said Ingrid Young, who is helping co-chair the event alongside Linda Denson.

Mrs. Denson added, "He's coming to Tyler and we're really excited to have him."

Travis' soulful renditions of "On the Other Hand," "Diggin' Up Bones," "Forever and Ever, Amen" and other country favorites earned the artist 22 No. 1 hits and album sales in excess of 24 million since 1982, organizers said.

He is noted as the first country music artist to go multi-platinum, earning dozens of the industry's highest honors, including six Grammies. He also has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Travis' humble, easy-going manner has made him one of country music's most popular entertainers and a natural selection for this important cancer-fighting effort, said Terri Good, public relations chair.

Tickets for the event are $175 per person and include the concert, dinner, dancing, gaming, live and silent auctions, midway games and a general store.

Specific details are pending for the 12th annual Li'l Wranglers' Roundup children's party, a private gathering held in honor of pediatric oncology patients and their families.

Community support for last year's Cattle Barons' Gala enabled volunteers to raise more than $1 million for the ACS. Since 1988, Tyler volunteers have raked in roughly $6.5 million to help fund cancer research and patient support.

To commemorate the 21st year of the Gala, organizers plan to honor the daily successes of 21 cancer survivors, including oncologist Dr. Gary Gross, who shared his take on overcoming prostate cancer.

After a routine screening revealed unusual test results a few years ago, Gross said he chose to undergo surgery to treat the disease.

Now cancer free, Gross said he can better relate to his patients. He remains active in organizations that support cancer patients and research.

A finalized list of other honorees will be announced in the near future, said Ms. Good.

People can honor or memorialize someone who has battled cancer by making a $100 contribution to the "Circle of Roses" and "Tribute to Courage." Recognitions will be given in the invitation and/or the tribute book, and the Gala. The print deadline is March 14.

To assist in fundraising efforts, Hall Buick Pontiac GME is donating a special Cattle Barons' Edition 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 crew cab SLE truck as the prize for the chance drawing.

A total of 521 tickets will be sold for $100 each. Tickets are available at Hall Buick Pontiac GMC and the offices of the ACS, 1301 S. Broadway Ave.
