Randy Travis to Debut His Latest Album Around the Bend on QVC®
Release Marks Travis’ Return to Country Music After Nearly a Decade
WEST CHESTER, PA (June 6, 2008) – From the top of the music charts to the silver screen, Randy Travis has been entertaining audiences with his brooding baritone and rugged swagger. Now, almost 25 years later, with nearly 30 top 10 song hits, 20 feature film roles and countless television appearances, Travis will, once again, be delighting fans when he makes his QVC debut to unveil his latest album Around the Bend.
Scheduled to appear on QVC Presents QSessions Live on Monday, June 9 at 11 PM (ET), Travis will give viewers a sneak-peek of his much-anticipated release with a special live performance featuring a selection of songs from the album. Fans will also get the chance to purchase Around the Bend, with a special five-track bonus disc featuring classic gospel and country favorites from Travis, created especially for QVC, more than a month before street date.
“It’s a pleasure to have an icon like Randy Travis on our QVC Presents QSessions Live series,” said Rich Yoegel, director of merchandising for QVC. “To offer our viewers this special live performance as well as the opportunity to purchase Around the Bend with the bonus disc a month before its release is exciting.”
Around the Bend is Travis’ triumphant return to country music after spending nearly a decade focused on his successful gospel and acting careers. Produced by the legendary Kyle Lehning (Reba McEntire, George Strait, Alan Jackson), the album is reminiscent of his early years when his ethereal voice and gritty guitar-playing made him an instant star in the country music world.
“My career has really come full circle with this release,” said Travis. “To be able to go to back to my roots and record a tried-and-true country music album was amazing. Having the opportunity to share my music with QVC’s millions of viewers makes the entire experience even better.”

How many have been sold??
RT Team, I was wondering if there is an exact number to how many copies of "Around the Bend" have been sold so far for QVC, Amazon, etc. Would love to know! Glad Randy sold more than any other artist on a QVC special, although to me, it's not a big surprise since I think he is by far if not the best, one of the best singers EVER!

Sara, the night of his performance they did menton that he had already sold 6,000 copies. I don't know if that was the total amount . But still thats not bad for only appearing for a half hour.
I had ordered prior to the show. I didn't want to have to battle with busy phone lines, or chance not getting logged onto the site for heavy traffic.

Not Surprising, Really
I know I mentioned this before but last year whenn I suggested QVC be considered because Alabama had done well, i was told they (whoever they is) probably wouldn't consider it. I'm glad they did.
I'm not surprised, totally, though, that randy did so well. In this day of technology, i think we often forget how many people, especially many of the elder generation, still don't have computers but they do have TVs and probably watch QVC among other things. Some of them could have been fans of the 90s who loved Randy in the days of his frequent touring and frequent appearances on such things as Jay Leno, David Letterman, etc speaking of which, why are we not seeing him on those shows promoting the upcoming CD?
I too would love to know just how many to dateQVC has sold.

New Songs
I was messing around on the computer tonight and got into myspace and found Randys site and listened to his new songs from Around The Bend . I think he needs to release "Everything I Have- Has Got A Dent In It"! I enjoyed that and could hear it on the radio. It's fun and not so serious. It's sad people are like that!!!" But I took it light hearted and thought it was fun.
It sounds like the types of songs they sing on the radio. I thank Randy for being very picky about h is songs. It gives songwriters a healthy pedistal to try and raise to.
I'll be looking for insperational shows, whenever-- hopefully something someday will be in Ohio. We were going to visit my son out west this year, and I thought get a show in, but my son wants to come see us at home, so we probably won't get to see Randy this year. Gas is so high! We're helping our son take a bus here!
Also, I'm gonna bug Randy every once in awhile- He needs to come on here and surprise writers with personal responses, or take action on some of their problems, etc. and let everyone know he does care what fans are doing and he does appreciate them!!!! I can't see Garth Brooks worrying too much about crazy fans, etc., he dives right in there!!! Stretch Randy!!!!!

the songs are indeed great and the one you mention, Sunflower, is truly one of my favorites so far.
As far as Randy getting on here and personally responding to fans, if what he says is true, that he doesn't use a computer and even chooses not to, I am not personally looking for that to happen.
I am sure the RT Team is doing the best they can and keeping us up to date and adding dates as they are given to thim. Hopefully you will get one in your area soon as I certainly understand the need and want to see randy. I think we are all hoping for something in our area as we all experience the high prices and financial burdens many are experiencing these days.
