If there's ever a week to party at the Riverside Casino & Golf Resort, it's now.
The casino is planning a host of activities to ring in its second anniversary Sunday.
"We have a lot of great events planned all week," said Dan Kehl, casino chief executive
officer.
Among the highlights are two large concerts -- Randy Travis and Wheel in the Sky,
a Journey Tribute band.
Travis performs at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Event Center. Tickets are $58 and $53.
Wheel in the Sky takes the pool courtyard stage at 7 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $10.
Angie Mabeus, entertainment coordinator of the casino, expects Travis' show to sell
out.
"Randy just has such a broad appeal," she said. "People from all age groups love
him and appreciate his music.
"He's got those classic hits like 'Forever and Ever Amen,' but he also keeps putting
out great new music and finding new fans as he goes."
To date, Travis has sold more than 21 million records, making him one of the 10 top-selling
solo country artists of all time.
Fireworks are to follow Wheel in the Sky's performance.
The group performed last December at the casino.
"Everyone loved them so we're really excited to be bringing them back for the final
pool party of the season," Mabeus said. "They perform all of Journey's greatest hits
and put on an amazing show."
The second annual GIVE Golf Tournament Fundraiser takes place today to raise money
for the Golf For Injured Veterans Everywhere golf program. A dedication of the Riverside
Performance Studio to GIVE takes place at 1:30 p.m. The golf tournament begins at
2 p.m.
A $20,000 slot tournament runs through Sunday.
Casino officials estimate that more than 1.7 million people visited the casino from
its first anniversary to its second.
"We hope folks will come out and enjoy the week of festivities with us," said Sharon
Haselhoff, the casino's public relations director.
Kehl agreed.
"It is a special week for us. This project was many years in the planning," he said
of the casino. "We like to celebrate it every year."

And I am going to be there! Oh, What a Time To Be Me!
I have a habit of using RT song titles in my conversation whenever possible. Funny thing is I even have my 7 yr old son doing it. My husband is quite tired of hearing I Told You So though! lol
